Central to every institution’s roadmap for the future is a strong strategic plan. The visionary documents outline institutional priorities and when done well, serve as an institution’s North Star, guiding it towards the future.
These plans rightly focus on academic goals, but a strong, comprehensive strategic plan also includes a well-outlined approach to best serving the increasingly diverse student populations taking advantage of post-secondary education. In many college communities, this work requires deep introspection, coalition building, and ultimately guidance and support from an outside partner.
In this case study, we take a deep-dive into Macomb Community College’s journey of developing their DEI strategic plan and how and why they brought on Kennedy & Company to support them in that effort. Their partnership resulted in a strong, collaborative vision for equity and inclusion that will enable the college to deliver on its mission now and into the future. The case-study also includes:
