Position Location: Washington, DC  |  Position Type: Summer, Part-time

Kennedy & Company (K&Co) was founded in 2013 to provide colleges and universities with a differentiated advisory offering that assists institutions with their most pressing strategic questions around enrollment, retention, online delivery of courses, choices in academic programming, and financial sustainability.

Through hands-on training and the opportunity to perform client-facing work, K&Co interns will contribute to consulting services provided specifically for not-for-profit colleges and universities. Interns will participate in a number of activities, such as supporting consulting teams on client engagements, preparing graphics and presentations for client deliverables, assisting with business development efforts, and other projects and efforts as necessary.

The K&Co internship is first and foremost an educational experience for students with a passion for social sector work. We particularly encourage student applicants who are seeking internships as part of a formal academic program at their school. In all instances, we work with our interns to make the experience as relevant to the students’ educational goals and career aspirations as possible.

Our ideal candidate will be one that is interested and well-equipped with the communication, technical and analytical skills required to work in the consulting industry but who is also looking to be a part of a small, close-knit team of motivated individuals. Candidates must be open to a flexible working environment and a startup feel.

Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. An aptitude for or direct experience with budget model design, survey research, financial modeling, statistical analysis, or dashboarding is preferred. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome.

K&Co interns are paid hourly and can expect to be engaged in company work 30 hours per week for at least 8 consecutive weeks during the summer. Start and end dates are flexible.

The application period for the summer 2022 Intern Program begins on Friday, October 15, 2021. The application deadline for priority consideration is 11:59pm Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Review of applications will begin in mid-January. Invitations for interviews will be extended in late-January, early-February. Offers will be extended to the Summer 2022 Intern(s) by the end of February.
