Intern

Position Location: Washington, DC  |  Position Type: Summer, Part-time

Kennedy & Company (K&Co) was founded in 2013 to provide colleges and universities with a differentiated advisory offering that assists institutions with their most pressing strategic questions around enrollment, retention, online delivery of courses, choices in academic programming, and financial sustainability.

Through hands-on training and the opportunity to perform client-facing work, K&Co interns will contribute to management consulting services provided specifically for not-for-profit colleges and universities. Interns will participate in a number of activities, such as supporting consulting teams on client engagements, preparing graphics and presentations for client deliverables, assisting with business development efforts, and other projects and efforts as necessary.

The K&Co internship is first and foremost an educational experience for undergraduate students with a passion for social sector work. We particularly encourage undergraduate student applicants who are seeking internships as part of a formal academic program at their school. In all instances, we work with our interns to make the experience as relevant to the students’ educational goals and career aspirations as possible.

Our ideal candidate will be one that is interested and well-equipped with the communication, technical and analytical skills required to work in the consulting industry but who is also looking to be a part of a small, close-knit team of motivated individuals. Candidates must be open to a flexible working environment and a startup feel.

Undergraduate students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. An aptitude for or direct experience with budget model design, survey research, financial modeling, statistical analysis, or dashboarding is preferred.

K&Co interns are paid hourly and can expect to be engaged in company work 40 hours per week for at least 8 consecutive weeks during the summer. Start and end dates are flexible.

The application period for our summer 2023 intern position has concluded. Information for summer 2024 will be available in the fall.
